The idea for Salon Alchemy came from designing websites for people in the beauty industry, and realising that there was a gap in the market between the "free" website providers, and high-end professional web designers costing several hundreds of pounds and upwards.

Many free website providers only offer a limited range of templates, which can mean that you end up with a website that uses the same layout, colours and graphics as someone else's. Many are also notorious for churning out "messy" HTML code, full of syntax errors, that doesn't conform to W3C standards - this can cause problems with accessibility. Others even display advertising on your website - hardly contributing to a professional image - and even risking your competitors getting advertising for themselves on your website!

The main advantage of many of the free website providers is that they give you the ability to maintain your website, usually via a user-friendly Web-based interface. By comparison, many professional web designers won't let you update your own website personally, and will charge you for any changes you want making to your site - as well as not always being able to make changes quickly for you.

Salon Alchemy aims to give you the best of both worlds. You get a bespoke website design unique to you, based on your own specific requirements, not the same template as zillions of other websites. Plus the ability to maintain your website yourself (currently this is limited to being able to edit your treatment menus and website title and Meta tags, but we aim to add functionality to manage image galleries on your site and edit the content on any page on your site within the next few weeks). And to top it all, your website integrates seamlessly with a powerful online salon management system. All this for a price that is a fraction of the majority of our competitors.

Move your existing website to Salon Alchemy

If you already have a website, then we would be happy to help you move it across to Salon Alchemy, subject to getting the necessary permission from your current website provider, and any copyright considerations. We would then upgrade your website to work with the Salon Alchemy system. This would give you full access to all the Salon Alchemy features (like being able to update your treatment menus and have them automatically updated on your website), and may even save you money on your current web hosting.

Web Hosting

You may have already designed a website yourself, e.g. using Dreamweaver or Microsoft FrontPage, and are happy maintaining it yourself but want to save money on your web hosting. If so, then Salon Alchemy can provide competitively priced web hosting on our server. You'll get FTP access to our server, enabling you to update your website whenever you want, and Webalizer web statistics, showing you how many people are visiting your website each day, and where they are coming from. And of course we'll be on hand to answer any technical queries you might have.

Our web hosting may also be a good option if you already have a website and want to save money on your web hosting, but don't need any salon management features or the ability to update your website using our system.

Either way, you'll be able to take advantage of super-fast web hosting on our dedicated server housed in a secure data centre, with the option of upgrading your site to be powered by Salon Alchemy in the future.
