About Us

Salon Alchemy is run by MEGTEK, a small IT business run by husband and wife Rick (a.k.a. "Ruth") and Sonia Mills.

For the past few years, MEGTEK's core business has been in IT consultancy, where Rick has travelled to client's sites and assisted them on large-scale software projects. Building on years of software development experience, and using the best of freely available Open Source software, we now seek to offer truly professional Web solutions at a surprisingly affordable price.

The key to this is what we call "Alchemy", our bespoke modular Web architecture, based around Java, XML and Linux. This makes it possible for us to quickly and efficiently design and maintain websites that are customisable to our client's every need, and to keep our costs low.

We've also been working on a couple of projects to benefit people working in the industry, including Salon Guinea Pig, to assist people in finding volunteers for training courses, competitions, etc.

Salon Alchemy grew out of our shared interest in beauty, hair and nails into a passion to help people in the industry with web design and IT, and offer a friendly one-to-one service where we work with you to create the web site that is right for you and your business.
